Bio
Tian Tao was born on April 8, 1994, in Changyang, China. He began weightlifting at just 10 years old, and by 17 he was already stunning the national scene, winning the 77 kg category at the Chinese Intercity Games with a 205 kg jerk that outperformed existing Junior World Records.
His path has not been without adversity. In 2012 he suffered an elbow injury while attempting 211 kg, sidelined after narrowly missing Olympic qualification. He responded by moving up to the 85 kg class in 2013 and earning his place on the World Championship team, showing resilience that has defined his career ever since.
